Babbitt alloy is a low melting point alloy, the main components of which are tin, lead, antimony, etc. For the casting of babbitt alloy to fix the traction rope head, each elevator factory has formulated special operating procedures, which must be strictly followed to avoid reducing the mechanical strength of the traction rope termination.
The conical sleeve in the rope head combination is made of cast steel, and the small end is connected to the traction rope head (several traction ropes require several rope head combinations). Babbitt alloy is poured inside the sleeve, and the rope head is cast in the conical sleeve. The pull rod is inserted into the rope head plate hole on the car or counterweight frame upper beam, and the spring is inserted, a washer is added, and it is fixed with a double nut and a cotter pin is added to prevent it from falling off.
