Project Background:

EcoDisc, the innovative butterfly motor technology, has been serving as a cornerstone in KONE elevators for numerous years, renowned for its energy efficiency and smooth ride experience. With the ever-growing demand for modernization and performance enhancement in Indonesia's bustling CBD, the retrofit of EcoDisc motors in existing elevator systems becomes imperative to maintain the highest standards of comfort, safety, and sustainability.

Retrofit Target:

The focus of this project is to upgrade the elevators in the CBD area of Indonesia, integrating the latest EcoDisc butterfly motor technology.

Project Materials Required:

Control Cabinet: Replacing or upgrading the existing control cabinet to be compatible with the new EcoDisc motor system.
Encoder Assembly: Substituting the tachometer with an advanced encoder component for precise speed measurement and control.
Friction Wheel Wear Detection Module: Installing a wear detection system to monitor the condition of friction wheels, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Door System Compatibility: Ensuring seamless integration and compatibility of the new motor system with the existing door mechanisms.
Landing Call Buttons: Upgrading or replacing the external landing call boxes for improved user interface and functionality.
Traveling & Hoistway Cables: Replacing or reinforcing the traveling and hoistway cables to support the enhanced performance of the new motor system.

Retrofit & Debugging Process:

Elevator Placed in Maintenance Mode: To ensure the safety of technicians and minimize disruption, the elevator is first placed in maintenance mode.
Activation of KONE Proprietary Algorithm Parameters: Enabling specialized software algorithms designed specifically for EcoDisc motors to optimize performance.
Motor Type Configuration: Setting the motor profile to match the EcoDisc butterfly motor specifications.
Machine Room Parameter Adjustment: Fine-tuning the parameters in the machine room to align with the new motor's operating requirements.
Auto-Tuning Process: Continuously pressing the up or down maintenance buttons to initiate the auto-tuning process, allowing the system to automatically adjust and optimize its settings.
Completion of Auto-Tuning: Once the auto-tuning process is successfully completed, the system is ready for further testing and adjustments.
